The objective of this study is to analyze the agricultural market in the Galapagos Islands, with the goal of evaluating the viability of producing organic fertilizer through the collection and processing of invasive plants that harm the region's environment. These plants are primarily from the islands of Santa Cruz, San Cristóbal, Isabela, and Floreana. The method used was exploratory-descriptive, based on the analysis of documents from public agencies such as the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock of the Government of Ecuador, the National Agricultural Registry (RENAGO), the National Institute of Agricultural Research (INIAP), among others, as well as from private organizations. The results show a shortage of agricultural products due to a decrease of 10,000 hectares, caused by high production costs: direct labor (DLL), capital investments (CPI) for land technology and soil rehabilitation, and low prices caused by the importation of agricultural products.
