Condiciones empresariales que definen un alto nivel de capacitación del talento en Green skills: Un Análisis Cualitativo Comparado (QCA)

The transition towards a green economy, through the inclusion of advanced technologies and sustainable business practices, involves interventions from governments to change production methods (International Labor Organization (ILO), 2018) and propose to decision-makers in the industrial sector, training talent in Green Skills, which are ideal to operate in a sustainable manner. The aim of this research is to identify the necessary and sufficient conditions that allow commercial, industrial, and service companies in Querétaro to achieve a high training level on Green Skills. The theoretical foundations are based on Human Resource Management (HRM) perspective and on the international frameworks of skills and competencies. The methodology implemented is Qualitative Comparative Analysis (QCA). The results show that the internal conditions of companies that allow for a high level of training in Green Skills are, in order of importance, the decision to invest, the frequency of investment, the frequency of training, and the size of the company. The mentioned conditions must be present simultaneously for high level of training in Green Skills to occur. The results also highlight that Green Skills are composed of six social skills, eigth sustainable skills, seven digital skills, and seven cognitive skills. In that order, they would be priorities to develop in the companies established in Querétaro.
